The Maruyama Park (in Japanese; Maruyama Koen 円山公園) is a popular park in Kyoto as it is in Gion, next to if now encompassing famous temples, has a famous cherry tree and during cherry blossom season is packed with locals and visiting Japanese alike. You may want to stroll about hear when visiting near bye shrines, sit down and relax a bit. If you happen to be in Kyoto during cherry blossom season, be sure to try an visit this park. The "Main Attraction" is a Weeping Cherry Tree (Japanese absolutely love cherry trees) called "Shidare Zakura" and it lit up at night.
