The Suginami Animation Museum is just a short ride from Shinjuku on the train. It is in Suginami City Ward, a center of Japanese anime production. Note that this museum has "a little" written English but most everything is in Japanese but there is an English audio tour. Although it's a small museum entry is FREE, which is great, and they have some interactive areas and some places were you cab sit down and trace and color pictures as well. In the back corner of the museum there are some exhibits of different animators desks, accompanied by videos (with English subtitles) explaining the animation process. If you're into Japanese animation this is a recommended stop on your visit to Tokyo. Plan on spending about an hour in the museum.

Closest Train Station: Ogikubo

• Walk: 20 min. walk from Ogikubo Station
• Bus: Take the "Kanto Bus" from either the No. 0 or the No. 1 bus stop at the north exit of Ogikubo Station. Get off at Ogikubu Keisatsusho-mae (the police station), it's about a 5 min. ride.
